I’m pretty sure these guys are my favorite band in South Africa.  They rock so check em out!

This is JJ, he takes pictures and films skate videos.  His photography is really cool.  I shot this portrait of him at one of his galleries a while back.

I’ve been inspired by my friend ‘Simon’ to get one of these cameras!  He has been visiting here in South Africa, doing some photographic work and I must say, the quality of these cameras is amazing and that’s what made me wanna get one!  I got this one off e-bay and can’t wait to get some other lenses for it!  I’ll post some pictures that I have taken with it soon…  It’s not digital so it will take longer to get the images processed.  I shot these picstures of it with my EOS 50D and used my light box that I made.

I found this guy sleeping on the streets of Johannesburg on a recent trip to downtown.  I felt sad for the people down there, drinking their sorrows away…  I think he was dreaming that South Africa would become the 53rd State of America!

My friend Simon is visitng me from London and he is also a photographer, infact, I should say, more of a photographer than I am, but that’s not really the point.  So, he has been spending many days actually living down on the Cape Flats where most South Africans wouldn’t even dare walk!  He has told me some crazy stories about the people down there and I can’t even imagine what it must be like to experience that.  Anyways, he came back to JHB for a couple days and we went and shot some pictures in downtoan JHB with our friend JJ who kinda knows the scene down there and he guided us around to get some shots.  These are mine.

On our way back to Johannesburg from Namibia we drove through some amazing places in the Namib Desert, the scenary is absolutely amazing!  Old burnt out or broken down cars are not un-common!  I shot this picture close to the town of Marienthal in Namibia.

Sunrise and sunset over Sossusvlei are both amazing and I truly hope you get to see it at some point in your life.

This has to be one of the most amazing places ever, the red dunes, the desert, the silence, the wildlife and just the collective beauty make it a place I will always enjoy visiting!

Solitaire is basically a fueling station in the Namib Desert where you can also stock up on snacks and grab a bite to eat.  It’s a strange little place that gets very little rainfall.

Just a tree, all on it’s own in the vast Namibian Desert.
